WELCOME TO HEPCAT HORROR HOUSE

Hepcat Horror House was created to provide quality collectibles for monster fans of all ages. My name is David Laff and I grew up loving anything to do with classic monsters, an infatuation fueled by the movies I would watch with my parents. By Kindergarten my hero's were Jack Pierce and Boris Karloff, and my aspirations were to become a Hollywood make-up artist. As I grew up, I saw practical effects being phased out of mainstream filmmaking, and also began to enjoy the more novelty aspect of horror music, art, and films. I moved to Los Angeles, California, after graduating from High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. In Los Angeles I studied filmmaking, painting, special effects make-up, and music production. Along the way I was able to meet and consult with some of the last practical practitioners and innovators of the film and effects industry, and learn about the the dwindling art form I always cherished so much. Now I have moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where I blend Hollywood effects and fine art techniques with retro horror motifs to create fine art versions of some of your favorite nostalgic novelty items. I am proud that every product I offer is authentically handmade through conception to final product, never utilizing any sort of digital sculpting or artificial intelligence.
